On this day, Allah the Exalted looks upon His believing servants who are gathered in His remembrance and monotheism, standing in their prayers for His glorification.

Then He says to His angels: "These are My small servants, sincere in My obedience, offering themselves for My pleasure. So bear witness unto Me, O My near angels, that I have indeed forgiven them all [of them],

for I am the Most Merciful of the merciful. On this great day, Allah tested His Intimate Friend (Khalil) Ibrahim with the sacrifice of his noble master son. The Khalil saw in his dream what he saw regarding the sacrifice of the one who was the apple of his eye, making him an offering to his Master and a precursor to what He had decreed and ordained. So he cried out to the fruit of his heart and called him; Allah had informed him of His secret and private discourse. He related his vision to him, and Allah granted him patience over his trial. When he finished his speech and concluded it, his chosen son (al-Murtada) said to him—in submission to what Allah had decreed and ordained—just as He informed and recounted about him.
