Then He called them the second call, and those who responded did so, whom God Almighty mentioned in His Dear Book, saying: {And if he was of the companions of the right, then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right"} 1 . Then He called them the third call, and those who responded did so, and they are those whom God Almighty mentioned in His Dear Book, saying: {A company of the former peoples and a few of the later peoples} 2 . Then He called them after that, and most of them responded out of compulsion; and He, the Mightiest of speakers, said:

{And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water and a shade of black smoke, neither cool nor noble} 3 . And this response [stands] against them until the Day of Resurrection.

Then, He returned them after that from existence to non-existence, after all of them had responded as we have explained. Specifically, the people of the first call and those who responded therein are the People of Precedence (Ahl al-Sabq); the people of the second call and those who responded therein are the Companions of the Right (Ashab al-Yamin); and the people of the third call are those who pass through the degrees of faith.

The Forerunners (al-Sabiqun al-Sabiqun) are the Luminous World (al-'Alam al-Nurani), the five thousand who are the People of the Ranks
