He says:
When they are transferred to the metamorphosed bodies (Abdan Masukhiyyah), those souls and their eyes are the same ones that were in the human state (Bashariyyah), and their noses are those [same] noses, and their ears are those ears, and their teeth are those teeth. For when they undergo metamorphosis (Maskh), their spirits are transferred into those slaughtered structures (Hayakil Madhbuhah). In the case of dissolution (Faskh), they are transferred in the structures they were upon in the human state—that is, in the condition that preceded the metamorphosis. Those who have traversed the five degrees become Qushash (scavenging creatures), and their limbs are those [same] limbs.
Among them are those who are reversed in creation, such as the nose which becomes a vulva, and the mouth which becomes an exit [anus], and the beard which becomes a tail, and the two hands which become knees and wings; thus their forms become altered from the human state (Bashariyyah).
[37] And on the authority of Ali ibn Ahmad al-Barqi, from Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Azraqi, from Abu Jidash al-Akhmash, who said: My father narrated to me from Dawud ibn Kathir al-Raqqi, that he said: "I had a neighbor in Raqqa who was among the notables of the Arabs. He used to keep a mare to raise her [offspring]. It happened once that he raised a piebald foal (Muhr Ablaq), which was of the Jarira breed of horses.
