[He asked] for an explanation and clarification of that, and for the evidence for it from the Book of God, the Almighty, which is the Great Constitution and the Comprehensive Imam, wherein is the clarification of what remained hidden from us during the intervals (al-Fatarat)—when we were veiled from the People of Proof (Hujaj) and the People of Ranks (Maratib) due to our sins in our arrogance and tyranny. [He also asked] for the evidence of that from the traditions and reports transmitted to us from the Sheikhs and Masters, and from the Lords (al-Mawali)—exalted is Their might—and from the High, the All-Knowing.

On God’s Call to Mankind for Response, the Denial of the Deniers, and the Response of the Believers:

Know, may God have mercy upon you, that God—Blessed and Exalted is He—bestowed His favor upon the entirety of this world; He brought them from non-existence into existence, brought them forth from a single essence (Jawhar), and established them in a single station. He called them to His Oneness (Tawhid). In the first [call], the People of Purity responded, those whom God Almighty mentioned in His Dear Book, saying: {And the forerunners, the forerunners - those are the ones brought near [to God]} ¹ .
