He says: The custom (al-Sunnah) has already been established before you and before your creation among nations who disbelieved and were metamorphosed in the wildernesses and wastelands, tormented within [animal] temples. So proceed through the earth; it is for you to travel and learn how was the end of those who disbelieved in their Lord and rejected their Creator.

[27] And on the authority of Muhammad ibn Sinan—peace be upon him—who said: In one of the years, I set out for Mecca with a camel-driver (Jammal). He was a driven youth who took charge of the camels, until the journey grew long for him and the wandering (al-'Asf) 1 , the camel raised its head and called out the name of the camel-driver, saying: 'Do you not recognize me? I am none other than your father—may God not bless you! For how long will you beat me and torment me? If you do not believe me, then ask him,' and it pointed toward Muhammad ibn Sinan. He [the driver] said: 'O Muhammad, is it as he says, so that I should not increase [his burden]?' I said: 'Increase it, for he has spoken the truth.'"

The Almighty said: {And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and love to be praised for what they did not do—never think them to be in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment} 2 .
