However, when a soul is destined to be transferred to metamorphosis (al-Masukhiyya), there appear in that human shirt (Qamis) states that resemble the animal while it is still in human form. Have you not considered the words of the Almighty: {He brings forth the wicked from the good and brings forth the good from the wicked} 1 ? This is due to the density of the experienced spirits upon entry; the form is likened to the form it was previously in, and so it seeks it, for it only enters it because of its familiarity."
As for the sperm-drop: when the semen falls into the womb, it remains a sperm-drop (Nutfa) for twenty days, then a clinging clot ('Alaqa)—which is clotted blood—for twenty days. Then it becomes a chewed-like lump (Mudgha) for twenty days; the lump resembles a piece of meat. Within the semen, there is a white knot from which something like a worm develops—it is this which becomes the clot, then the lump—while the remainder of the semen serves as its nourishment during that period.
The first things to be created of that human—as well as of Transcription (Naskh) and Metamorphosis (Maskh)—are the two eyes and the brain of the head, from that knot which was a clinging clot and then became a chewed-like lump.
