If he does not accept it, he is returned to that which is more difficult than it, until no type of cattle or wild beast, large or small, remains but that he is repeated within it—anything that possesses movement, flesh, and blood.
When that is complete while he persists in his rebellion, defiance, and tyranny, he is transferred to the plants of the earth—the trees and the herbs, both those that are eaten and those that are not, those that are utilized and those that are not. When that is complete, he is transferred into Entrenchment (al-Raskh), becoming entrenched in inanimate objects such as gold, silver, iron, copper, lead, and stone, just as God—the Mighty and Majestic—said: {Say, "Be you stones or iron, or [any] creation of that which is great within your breasts"} 1 . These two—
—Gold and Silver—are the mainstay of the spirits of this inverted creation. He endures smelting in crucibles, heating by fire, and the striking of hammers upon stones and anvils. You see them punishing one another, such that you might pass by a blacksmith heating a piece of iron upon an anvil; the blacksmith is tormented by this toil, the hammer is tormented, and the clay with which the furnace is built is tormented in that mold (Qalib).
When he is returned to the first mold (Qalib) of humanity, Monotheism (al-Tawhid) is presented to him.
