Then He commanded that a spread fire be created, and commanded that segments and forms be segmented from it. Thus, segments and forms were segmented from it, and they stood worshipping God. Then the Luminous ones were forbidden 1 from mixing with the Fiery ones; yet some of them mixed with others. So He spread that which mixed into two creations 2 .

Then He commanded that a wind be created, and it was created. Then He commanded, and segments were segmented from it and forms were shaped from it; so they stood worshipping God. Then the Fiery ones were commanded not to mix with the Windy ones; yet some of them mixed with others. So He spread the portion that had mixed. Then He commanded that water be created; so it was created, and forms were shaped from it and segments were segmented from it. Then the Windy ones were commanded not to mix with the Watery ones; yet some mixed. Then He created clay from the two seas—the fresh and the salty-bitter. Then He commanded it [the water], and He segmented segments from it and shaped forms from it. Then He commanded the Watery ones to mix with the Clayey ones; so some of them mixed with others, and He spread [them].
