[6] And [there are] what are similar to this narration. This is supported by what Abu Muhammad al-Husayn ibn Shu'ba al-Harrani related to me, saying: Abu Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Nu'mani—peace be upon them—related to me, saying: Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Basri related to me, saying: Abu Sadaqa related to me, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Sinan—peace be upon him—on the authority of the Knower (al-'Alim)—exalted is His might—that he said: "Do not wish for death unless you know what becomes after death; if you here know what happened to the one who asked his Master to compose him into a legume and to let him know what befell him.

He said: So when he departed from his shirt (Qamis), He cast him into a legume. He remained in fear that something might pass by and eat him. Then a cow passed by and ate it; so he endured types of torment in its belly while being aware. Then he emerged in the milk within a bowl of leban, and he remained in fear that a human might come and drink it, thus becoming imprisoned within the loins of men. Then a man came and drank the milk, and he remained in his loin for an age.

Then he emerged from his loin into the wombs, remaining as himself until he was raised in his mother's belly for nine months, enduring every constriction while being aware. Then the woman gave birth to him, while he desired to know his hereafter and where he would transfer from here. He [the Lord] said: "He shall not enter Paradise until the camel passes through the eye of the needle."
