Rather, He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, the Forgiving. He created a creation whom He honored and ennobled; thus, their wrath is His wrath and their pleasure is His pleasure. He does not cease from a state, nor is He described by a likeness, and nothing enters Him. So, whomever they are pleased with, mercy descends upon them—which is Paradise and Light; and whomever they are angry with, wrath, resentment, darkness, metamorphosis (Maskh), and torment descend upon them."
As for Metamorphosis (al-Maskh), it is when a being is transformed within the very temple (Haykal) in which he exists into another form, such as the words of the Almighty: {So We said to them, "Be apes, despised"} 1 ; thus they became apes in their bodies. And like the words of the Almighty: {Those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut} 2 . So they became as He enacted, and this is Metamorphosis; and it is that whose meat is not permissible to be eaten.
Neither its fat, nor its fur, nor its wool is permissible, and it is not permissible to keep its hide except by purification according to the [stipulated] condition. This is because, in principle, it was a human temple (Haykal), but that temple was inverted and became a metamorphosed form (Maskh).
