First, he created the Deputies (al-Nuqaba), the Nobles (al-Nujaba), the Chosen (al-Mukhtassun), the Sincere (al-Mukhlisun), and the Tested (al-Mumtahanun). Then he extended to him the management over the transfer of souls and their composition in Transmigration (al-Naskh), Dissolution (al-Faskh), Metamorphosis (al-Maskh), Abjection (al-Waskh), and Entrenchment (al-Raskh), as well as the Refuse (al-Qashsh) and the Debris (al-Qushash). Among them are those returned to the human spirit, and among them are those returned from humanity to transmigration—which is the edible [animal] whose meat is permitted to be eaten in the outward sense. Among them are those returned to dissolution, to metamorphosis, to abjection, to entrenchment, and to the refuse and debris. The last of them are the winged creatures and the wasps, according to their degrees and stations. Then he delegated that to Abu Dharr, who created (Dhara’a) and brought forth (Bara’a) the creation. That is [the meaning of] His—the Almighty’s—words: {And there is not among us any except that he has a known station} 1 .

In these types of metamorphosed forms, those who responded in the third call out of compulsion are repeated. As for those who responded in the second call willingly, their exit from repetition and transfer is hastened according to their ranks and the speed of the response they gave."
