He says: When they dwell in the structures of metamorphosis (Hayakil al-Masukhiyyat), they desire to submit (Yuslimū); and whoever submits, does not deny his Creator.

[48] Al-Hasan ibn Sa'd narrated from Musa ibn al-Husayn al-Baghdadi, from al-Mufaddal ibn 'Umar—peace be upon him—who said: I heard Abu Abd Allah al-Sadiq—may His Might be exalted—saying:

"Indeed, Salman returned (Karra) seventy times; and there was no return (Karrah) except that the difficult [aspect] of our Wilayah (Sa'bu Wilayatina) was presented to him, and he would accept and submit. So, Salman passed away in the state of Submission (al-Taslim) 1 ."

And the words of the Almighty: {Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know} 2 . He says: What the people of disbelief and denial bring [upon themselves] of what they eat and enjoy of the debris of this world and its fleeting pleasures. For when they are transferred (Nuqilū) into the metamorphosed states (al-Masukhiyyat), they regret and realize that this metamorphosis is due to their denial and rebellion, as they have [now] become thus.

Footnotes

1He was a part of His supporters [the Imams] after the difficult [aspect] of their Wilayah was presented to him, and he accepted and submitted. They made him the very personification of Submission, as our Master Ja'far al-Ja'afirah—may His Might be exalted—said: "Submission (al-Taslim) is one of the Names of Allah; it circulates among His servants, and it is [manifested in] Salman."
2Surah Al-Hijr - Verse 3.
