O soul: Anyone who dwells in a house and hates it, desiring to leave, ought to seek out another place before his relocation. For whoever moves from a place without knowing another to move into is likely to remain wandering and distressed; and necessity will force him to dwell wherever he finds [space], without order or choice. Perhaps, by necessity, he will dwell in a place worse than his first, whereby his life becomes diminished and his existence turns turbid.

O soul: There is no one who dwells in a place but that he yearns to move to one that is nobler, more spacious, and more magnificent than the first. What then is the matter with you, O soul, that you prefer to dwell in dark, ruined, and desolate dwellings, while abandoning the luminous, radiant, and intimate ones? Until when will you remain an inhabitant of desolate ruins, while your first, true dwellings remain neglected and empty of you?

O soul: Be certain of what I say to you and contemplate it. If you have realized anything other than what you perceive through the five senses, then you have turned toward the path of your salvation. But if you have not realized anything except what you witnessed through the body’s sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch, then you are indeed standing upon the path of ruin and the endurance of torment.

O soul: Indeed, the definition of "Piety" (Al-Tuqa) is a word you ought to comprehend and whose meaning you must be certain of.
