At that point, all his faculties become actualized, after having been, in the beginning, neither in actuality nor in potentiality.

Then he transitioned to a rank in which he existed in potentiality, and from the rank of potentiality, he proceeded to actuality and perfection; thus, he became an agent, a practitioner, a shaper, a perceiver, an exemplar, and a witness.

Know, O soul, that contemplation of these meanings is a proof of the subtle wisdom of the Creator of the world—Exalted is His Glory and Sanctified are His Names.

O soul: The Creator—Exalted is His Name—is like a speaker overflowing with the meanings and essences he possesses for those listening to him. Yet, not all who listen understand [the meaning] from the speaker.

Rather, among them are those who require an interpreter to convey [the meaning] to them, and a mediator to stand between the speaker and the listener. This is due to the listener's weak visualization, which hinders his understanding of the speech. Whoever is in such a state is as a foreigner (non-native); he does not understand his own need except through an interpreter who explains the speech to him and clarifies its true reality.
