As for representation: it is your illustrating what is hidden from you of the meanings from the realm of the intellect, by using what you have been guided to from the realm of the senses—matching example with example, and meaning with meaning. It is just as the essence of a form imprinted in wax points to its meaning and reality within the soul of the one who shaped and depicted it, and just as water leaves upon the sand and clay the traces of the meanings of its movements and ripples.

So, be content, O soul, with the reality of what I have presented.

And know that all that you are witnessing in the world of generation and corruption—of forms and craftsmanship—are but representations and configurations of meanings that exist in the realm of the intellect in true reality, neither vanishing nor perishing.

As for what exists in the spiritual world: it is perceived through intellectual observation. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every spiritual and corporeal being, upon reaching [the state of] particular existence, to be certain through the intellect that it is a reality that never passes away.

Indeed, the Intellect only depicts its essence for itself within Matter (Hyle); then, it looks through its essence at the meanings and forms of its own essence. Thus, it finds delight in that, out of admiration for itself—not for anything external to it, nor for any accidental trait—but from its essence for its essence.
