(152) Similar to this is what was narrated: that the Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, was sitting with Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, by his side, while the Muslims were gathered around him. He said to him: "O Ali, I am thirsty." There was a rock nearby, so our Master, Mighty is His Might, struck it with a staff he had with him, and pure water gushed forth from it. The Lord Messenger, Mighty is His Might, and those present drank from it. Thus, he sent down the rain and caused the water to spring from the stone.
Knowing what is in the wombs
(153) And His saying, Mighty and Majestic: {and knows what is in the wombs}. My master and sheikh Abu al-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Baghdadi—may God brighten his face—narrated to me by his chain of transmission from his men, that Abraha ibn al-Sabbah had a son who embraced Islam, migrated to the Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, and married in Medina. He then traveled away from his family and was absent for forty years.
The Lord Messenger, Mighty is His Might, used to look after the affairs of those he left behind. When the son returned from his travels and entered upon his wife, he found her pregnant and near her time of delivery. The next morning, he took her by the hand and brought her to the Messenger of God, Mighty is His Might, while Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might, was sitting there and the assembly was crowded with the Muhajirun and the Ansar. The man said: "O my master, O Messenger of God, I traveled away from this wife of mine at the time you know, leaving her in a state of safety. When I arrived last night, I found her in this condition."
The Prophet said to our Master Amir Almuminin, Mighty is His Might: "O Abu al-Hasan, inform them of the story of this woman, for you are well-acquainted with her."
Our Master, Mighty is His Might, drew her near and said to her: "If I ask you about something, speak the truth to me, for your exoneration lies in your truthfulness." She said: "Yes, O my master."
