This chapter concerns the existence of the Truth for the people of realization and the establishment of Oneness (Tawhid) through the testimonies witnessed by the people of affirmation.

To proceed: O noble brother—honorable in lineage, illustrious in status, and commendable in path—may God grant you the happiness of His friends and bestow upon you the gifts of His chosen ones. We did not prioritize the mention of spiritual fatherhood except for what we knew of your longing for its explanation and clarification. Thus, we hastened to favor you with its elucidation and announcement. Having fulfilled that purpose and met the requirement of your inquiry, let us now return to the explanation of the gnosis of Tawhid and its unveiling for the desiring seeker and the guided, upright aspirant.

We shall do so with clarity, directness, and evidence—through disclosure, signs, and proof, as witnessed by the firm revelations of the Book, which {falsehood cannot approach from before it or from behind it, a revelation from the Wise, the Praiseworthy}.

The evidence is drawn from the narrated traditions indicated and spoken by the Lord Messenger, the authenticity of which is witnessed by the possessors of intellect, and denied only by the rebellious and ignorant. To God belongs the intent of the path; truly, He is Exalted and Illustrious.

If one were to ask us: What is the proof for the Existing Lord and the Worshipped God? And what is the path to His gnosis and His presence within His creation and beings?

How have we found this and what has guided us to it from the Inscribed Book and the narrated traditions—upon which the generality of people agree—so that doubt and suspicion may vanish through His presence, allowing us to purify our worship for the Lord of lords and be saved from confusion and upheaval?
