The Connection is the gnosis of the Greatest Name and its connection to the Light of the Essence in pre-eternity; and the Separation is its manifestation from it to display power, signs, and wisdom.
(120) And by his chain of transmission from his men from the Lord Mime, Mighty is His Might, that he said one day to Haritha ibn al-Nu'man, peace be upon him, when he entered upon him: "How have you reached the morning, O Haritha?" He said: "I have reached the morning as a true believer." The Prophet was leaning back, so he sat up straight and said to him: "Everything has a reality; so what is the sign of your faith, O Haritha?" He said: "If I were to obtain the world—its pearls, its rubies, its gold, its silver, its dust, its stones, and its clay—they would all be equal to me." He said to him: "You have recognized, so adhere."
(121) Even if this address from the Faithful Name—His mercy be upon the worlds—was directed toward the luminous angels who follow him (may his prayers be upon them all), the intended meaning refers to the human believers. When it reaches them, they should adopt its discipline in guarding the secret, persist in religious understanding and remembrance, and employ dissimulation (Taqiyya) in concealing the matter. For it is the most sublime of sciences and the hidden aspect of the noble, concealed secret, as Bozorgmehr ibn Bukhtakan said in his discourse: "Since God is the Goal of goals and the End of ends, then the gnosis of Him is the most sublime of all acts of worship."
(122) Among what has been narrated in firm discourse from our Master Ja'far, Mighty is His Might, is that he said: "Whoever God has granted gnosis and yet thinks that anyone has been given more than what he was given, has indeed belittled what God has magnified and magnified what God has belittled."
(123) It is narrated from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar, peace be upon him, that he said: "The ultimate end of what is in this Abode is the gnosis of God; if He grants it to His poor servant, He has granted him the ultimate kingdom."
