(82) Al-Sayyari narrated from Muhammad ibn Sadaqa al-Anbari from Muhammad ibn Sinan al-Zahiri, peace be upon them, from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar al-Ju'fi, peace be upon us, who said: It was said to al-Sadiq, may His might be glorified: "Shall we teach our children this knowledge?" He replied: "No; for if Allah intends to enter one of you into this matter, He takes him by the upper arms and enters him into it, whether he wills it or not."
(83) Al-Adawi narrated from Hammad who said: Al-Sadiq, may His might be glorified, said: "Let none but the trustworthy (al-ma'mun) be taught the Greatest Knowledge."
(84) By his chain of transmission, he said: Al-Hamdani told me from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, peace be upon him, who said: The Master, the Inhabitant of the Camp, may His might be glorified, said: "Do not impart this matter to anyone; for if Allah intends good for a servant, He enters him into it, whether he wills it or not."
(85) By the chain of transmission from our Master al-Sadiq, may His might be glorified, that he said: "Our matter passes through the ears; hearts are repulsed by it, and hearts submit to it. So do not impart it to anyone, for few hear it without becoming hostile toward it."
(86) By the same chain of transmission from al-Alim, may His might be glorified, that he said: "A man who does not desire it or care for it may enter into this matter; and the listener may be a follower in speaking of it, yet before long, he becomes stubborn and hostile."
(87) Al-Yaqtini narrated from Ibn Sinan, peace be upon him, who said: Al-Sadiq, may His might be glorified, said: "The believers are equitable; their blood is equal, and the least of them can provide protection on their behalf. Their sanctuary shall not be violated, and they are one hand against all others. So look to the one among them who fulfills the obligations of Allah in secret and in public, concealing what we have kept secret and announcing what we have made manifest; take from him the landmarks of your religion."
