Supplication of our Master al-Baqir — Exalted be his Glory

(643) Our Master al-Baqir — exalted be his glory — used to say in his supplication: "O Ali, O Prince of Bees, O He who is God in the heaven and an Imam on the earth, expand for me my breast and ease for me my affair, fulfill for me my need, grant me my request, give me my desire, and establish for me a station with You, O Ali, O Great One."

(644) It was related from our Lord the Messenger of God — exalted be his glory — that he said: "Indeed, in my nation there are those spoken to (muhaddathun) and those conversed with (mutakallimun), and those upon whose tongues the tranquility (al-sakina) speaks. For the soul of the believer is sensitive and perceptive; he sees the Unseen from behind a thin veil, such that if some misfortune strikes him, he says: 'By God, my soul had told me of that.' He is thus comforted, spoken to, and conversed with."

The Story of Safina and the Lion

(645) By the chain from al-Asbagh ibn Nabata — peace be upon him — who said: Safina [the Freedman of the Prophet] boarded a vessel at sea with a group; they drowned and perished entirely except for him.
