Ishaq said: "I bear witness that this is the Truth." Abu Shu’ayb said to him: "Since you agree with me on this, it is mandatory for you to prostrate to the Name just as the High World, the People of the Ranks, prostrated." Ishaq said: "Whoever among the two worlds does not prostrate to the Name is a disbeliever. O my lord, increase for me your explanation that the Compassionate is the Name, with more clarity."
Abu Shu’ayb said: "Did not God say to the denying world: 'Prostrate to the Compassionate'? They said in opposition: 'And what is the Compassionate?' They intended by their denial to belittle the Compassionate because they were of the party of him who did not prostrate to him first—and he was Adam. The Adversary [Iblis] said: 'I am better than him'—for he is their misguider and their Satan—'You created me from fire and created him from clay.' So they said: 'And what is the Compassionate? Shall we prostrate to what you command us?' and it increased them in aversion. Thus the Compassionate is al-Hasan; he is one of the 'Wests' (al-magharib). When the Mim vanished, he set within him; and when Fatir and al-Muhsin vanished, they set within him. Then our Master the Prince of Bees concealed him beneath the shimmering of His lights and appeared in the likeness of his form."
Then Lord Abu Shu’ayb stood up and fell in prostration toward our Master al-Hasan—exalted be his glory—and said: "I bear witness that all the 'Easts' have set within You." Our Master—exalted be his glory—said to him: "Raise your head, O Abu Shu’ayb, for none has recognized God with His true recognition besides you."
