Ishaq said: "I bear witness by God that what you have said is the Truth; it is my belief and the religion by which I serve God the Almighty." Abu Shu’ayb then said to him: "If this is your religion, then know that the Compassionate is a name among the names of the Meaning that applies to the Mim." Our Master—exalted be his glory—smiled and said: "Speak, O Abu Shu’ayb." He said: "The Compassionate is al-Hasan, because the Name appeared through five personages: through the Mim, the Fa [Fatima], and the three Ha's. When the Name vanished, and Fatir and al-Muhsin vanished, the names al-Hasan and al-Husayn remained. Thus the Meaning concealed al-Hasan beneath the shimmering of His light and appeared in the likeness of his form; and that is the 'Establishment upon the Throne.'"
"Another proof: The Compassionate is the Lord Name. Do you not know that Adam the Chosen is the Mim?" Ishaq replied: "Yes, O my lord." Abu Shu’ayb asked: "Did not the Meaning say to the angels: {So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down to him in prostration}1? Thus the prostration was to the Name, while the worship was for the Meaning. Its clarification is the words of the Almighty: {The Compassionate ❁ Taught the Quran ❁ Created man ❁ Taught him eloquence}2. The Compassionate taught the world worship and obedience; for God imposed upon the High and Lower worlds—during the [pre-existence of] atoms, at the first Inception, and at the Call during the Invitation—the obedience to the Name. Then He mixed the High World with the Lower and blended them all together, calling them in a single station; just as the Lower World fasts, prays, worships, glorifies, and prostrates, they [the High World] are like them in worship."
