(617) It was related by his chain — may God be pleased with him — that the Messenger — exalted be his glory — said: "Between my grave and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise." Its meaning: the Pulpit is his manifestation and existence, and the Grave is his occultation. Between the occultation and the manifestation is Fatir — exalted be his glory — who is his jewel and the garden which is among the gardens of Paradise. For when the Mim [Muhammad] vanished, Lord Fatir spoke and manifested the dazzling miracle when the pillars of the mosque were uprooted and darkness appeared in Medina; after that, she manifested the occultation.

It was related regarding His saying: "Fatir is the mother of her father"; for she is the mother of the three Ha's and they are the Mim. A group said: He intended by it Mary daughter of Imran, but this has no reality, because Mary is a "Couch of Light" and she is Amina bint Wahb ibn Abd Manaf, while Fatir is the jewel of the Name and one of his personages; between them is a distance in status.

(618) He related it regarding the saying of our Master al-Sadiq — exalted be his glory: "Our science is difficult and made difficult. The 'difficult' is the affirmation of the visible form, and the 'made difficult' is the submission to it in servitude." There is another aspect to this: that the "difficult" is the affirmation of the Form, and the "made difficult" is the negation of anthropomorphism (al-taswir) in reality.

The Personages of the People of the Cave and the Seven Days of the Week

I asked my sheikh Abu al-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Baghdadi — may God sanctify his soul — regarding the personages of the People of the Cave and the personages of the seven days? He said: "My hearing regarding that from Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi — may God ennoble his station — is that the People of the Cave are the five personages of the Mim, the Great Name, and their protector is the Prince of Bees.
