(604) It was related that on the Day of Resurrection, the Lord — exalted be His mention — gathers the Elite before Him. Tables are set for them to eat and wine circulates among them as they drink. He says to David: "Enchant Your servants," so he enchants them. Then the cup reaches the Elite of the Elite, but they refuse to drink. The angels ask: "Why do you not drink?" They reply: "This is not what our Master promised us." The angels ask: "What did He promise you?" They reply: "He promised us that He would give us to drink with His own hand." That statement becomes monumental to the angels. Then God — Sublime and Exalted — says: "My servants have spoken the truth; this I promised them by My word, and it is the Truth: {Upon them will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord1 will give them a pure drink}2."

(605) Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Harun al-Sayegh — may God sanctify his soul — related it, saying: My sheikh, my master, and my reminder Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi — may God ennoble his station — narrated to me by his chain from al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswod al-Kindi, who said: "I entered upon my Master Abd al-Muttalib — exalted be his glory — one day while he was sitting upon a throne of gold raised a span from the ground. In his hand was a cup of pure jewel containing Abd al-Nur which had risen a span above the goblet. I fell upon my face in prostration. He said to me: 'O Miqdad, raise your head.' Then he gestured with his hand toward Abd al-Nur and said: 'This is a kingdom-drink, a majestic purity, and the light of my Gate. I am God, the Seeker, the Predominant. I called this inverted creation to Myself but they refused; I appeared to them in My Essence within Humanity but they rebelled; I manifested the evidences to them but they denied. By My might and majesty, I shall surely manifest to them the Muhammadan Cycle, and I shall surely punish them in the clay frames, and I shall surely load upon them the chains and burdens, and I shall make their destination the Fire.'"
