(594) By the chain from my sheikh — may God be pleased with him — raising it through his men to our Master al-Sadiq — exalted be his glory — that he said: "The believer is my sanctuary (harami), and his backbiting is a theft; so whoever backbites a believer has been a thief within my sanctuary."

The Psalms of David

(595) Among what was narrated by Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Malik al-Basri, with his chain of transmission from the Naqib Muhammad ibn Sinan (peace be upon him), from our Master al-Sadiq (may His might be exalted), that he said: 'Indeed, Allah enjoined His angels to glorify Him and never flag; so they glorified Him, yet they flagged and grew weary. He then revealed to them: "By My Might and My Majesty, I shall surely create an instrument ($ālah$) for My creation on My earth that shall glorify and exalt Me without ever wearying." Thus, He created the Psalms (Mazamir) of Dawud (blessings of Allah be upon him) and commanded Dawud to strike [the strings]; and whenever Dawud grew tired, the Psalms would vibrate [melodiously].

(596) By the chain from our Master al-Sadiq — exalted be his glory — that he said: "The Psalms of David are the Lute (al-oud), but with eighty-four strings."

What appeared regarding Abd al-Nur (The Servant of Light)

(597) Regarding what appeared concerning Abd al-Nur, it is related by the chain from our Lord Abu Khalid Abd Allah ibn Ghalib al-Kabili — to whom belongs submission — that he said: "al-Miqdad entered upon our Lord Abd al-Muttalib during the Age of Ignorance, while he [Abd al-Muttalib] held in his hand a cup of white silver containing red wine. He was upon a throne of gold and on his head was a crown encrusted with varieties of jewels. He said to him [al-Miqdad]: 'Draw near to me.'
