He replied: 'I have supplicated to God by magnificent names and asked Him to avert from me the calling of Adhan for anyone, or performing the Iqaama during the prayer times after Muhammad. If you freed me for the world, I would testify against you and call the Adhan; but if you freed me for God, then let me do with myself what I wish.' Zazmad said to him: 'Go wherever you wish.'"

(589) By his chain from Dawud ibn Kathir al-Raqqi, who said: I was with my Lord Abu al-Tayyibat Muhammad ibn Abi Zaynab al-Kahili — peace be upon him — and with him was a group of our companions. He said: "Is there anyone who desires God? Is there anyone who longs for God? I am the God who calls to God; He created me from His light, bestowed upon me His name, and made me a caller to God by His permission."

(590) From him, from his sheikhs, from Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Hasani, who said: I heard Lord al-Hasan al-Askari — exalted be his glory — say: "Abu Shu’ayb is the Supreme Gate of God through which He is approached. Whoever disbelieves in him and denies his Gatehood has denied the recognition of God."

(591) By his chain from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar — peace be upon him: I asked the Master al-Sadiq — exalted be his glory: "Who recognizes God with His true recognition?" He replied: "His Saint, Muhammad."

(592) By his chain from Muhammad ibn Jundub — peace be upon him: I heard the Master, the Lord of the Army [al-Askari] — exalted be his glory — say: "Abu Shu’ayb is Salman; he is of us, the People of the House; he has never been separated for a single hour."

(593) On the authority of our Master, the Sheikh Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi (may Allah sanctify his soul), who said: ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Maqari al-Sufi related to me, from Muhammad ibn Sinan al-Tariqi, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqi, from his father, from Yunus ibn Zhabyan (peace be upon him), that: "Jabir ibn Yazid al-Ju‘fi passed by a bridge in Kufa, and his ring fell into the bridge [into the water]. He then took a pebble and threw it in after the ring; whereupon the ring rose, floating upon the surface of the water, and he took it with his hand."
