He replied: "Yes, O Hannan, well have you spoken: Whoever claims that he recognizes God through the delusions of hearts is a polytheist; whoever claims that he worships a non-existent thing has negated the Worshipped; whoever claims that he worships the Name and the Meaning has associated partners and assigned to Him a partner; whoever claims that he worships the Name without the Meaning has affirmed the worship of other than God; but whoever claims that he worships the Meaning through the reality of the Name, those are the companions of Amir Almuminin, who answer Him on land and sea."
(586) Our Lord Messenger of God — exalted be his glory — was asked: "Who prays upon you?" He replied: "A man from Banu Hashim, then the most exemplary, then the most exemplary. This is after His saying: 'The first to pray upon me is my Lord, then the angels group by group.'"
(587) From al-Mufaddal ibn Umar — peace be upon him — that he was asked regarding who prayed upon the Messenger of God? He recited the words of the Almighty: {Indeed, God and His angels pray upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, pray upon him and submit in [full] submission}1. Then he said: "Ali and his Shia."
(588) By his chain from al-Mufaddal — peace be upon him: I asked our Master al-Sadiq — exalted be his glory — regarding Bilal ibn Hamama al-Habashi — peace be upon him — the Muezzin? He replied: "He was a Connaissant. When he saw Amir Almuminin with the Messenger of God, he would point toward Amir Almuminin and say: 'O One, I ask You by Your Single Name [and he would gesture toward Muhammad] to illumine my heart, strengthen my resolve, make me a servant to Your saints in the world and the Hereafter, and erase my name from the party of the wrongdoers.' When Lord Muhammad manifested the Occultation, Zazmad sent for him. He came to him [having sat in his house] and Zazmad asked: 'Why do you not call the Adhan?'
