(550) Regarding the like of this, we transmitted from a different narration via Uthman ibn Rashid, from Ali ibn Ismail al-Asali, from Uthman ibn Isa al-Rawwas, from Khalid ibn Najih, who said: I said to al-Mufaddal ibn Umar—peace be upon him—: "O my lord, my Master commanded me to obey you, so gladden my heart with the interpretation of this: {Say, "He is God, [who is] One"}?" He replied: "God is the One, the Prince of Bees. He is not part of the manifest lineage in anything, nor is He one among a group. He is One such that no one is like Him. He is the Eternal Refuge (al-Samad); that is because people attributed eating to Him, and every eater has an interior [void], but the Samad is He who has no interior. He neither begets; that is because when He manifested His Beautiful Names, they said He has a child and called them His children, so He negated that of Himself and said: 'He neither begets nor is born,' because they said Abu Talib was His father, so He negated that of Himself. 'Nor is there to Him any equivalent': nothing resembles Him such that it would be like Him or be His equivalent; and an equivalent is a peer."
(551) By his chain from Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Mahran, who said: Salman informed me that Ibrahim al-Ja’di said: I heard my Master al-Rida Ali ibn Musa—exalted be his glory—say: "Indeed God the Almighty shall say on the Day of Resurrection: 'I raise My lineage and I lower your lineage.'" I asked: "O my lord, what is the meaning of that?" He replied: "He manifested the Veils and made them a lineage—they are the progeny such as the son, the daughter, the wife, the brother, the sister, the mother, and the father. When the Day of Disclosure arrives, He appears in luminosity, and it becomes clear to the people that the lineage is cast aside."
