{And God is the one sought for help against that which you describe}1. This statement from Jacob is an indication toward Yusuf; by him help is sought, for there is no deity except God. Because Allah is a name among the names of the Meaning and it consists of four letters; if the Alif is removed, there remains [L-L-H] three letters, which was the name specific to the Meaning. Likewise [Ali] consists of three letters and it is an essential name for the Meaning. So Jacob said: By God [Yusuf] seek help, and I seek help with you. This is the application of the verse.

The words of the Almighty: {And there came a company of travelers; then they sent their water-drawer, and he let down his bucket. He said, "Good news! Here is a boy." And they concealed him as merchandise; and God was knowing of what they did}2. We have said that the Travelers are the twelve Nakibs who travel in the Kingdom. The "Water-drawer" (al-warid) is the Gate, because he is the one who "arrives" (al-warid) with every good. He let down his "Bucket," which is the Science of Truth by which he repels falsehood. The Gate let it down, and it is the establishment of the proof. The "Rope" is the Science that is between the Veil and the Gate, and it is the Supreme Name [Muhammad], for the one who draws the water is al-Miqdad.

Others said: rather, the one who drew water is the Gate from the Veil. The people of Reality said: the one who drew water is the Name from the Meaning. So the Name said: "Good news! Here is a boy," an indication toward the Meaning. {And they concealed him as merchandise; and God was knowing of what they did}3. The "Merchandise" here is the Science of Truth and its profitable recognition.
