The proof for it is the words of the Almighty regarding him: {O my sons, go and find out about Yusuf and his brother and do not despair of the relief of God. Indeed, no one despairs of the relief of God except the disbelieving people}1. Yusuf disclosed to them their secrets and their hearts until they witnessed him in reality while he was manifest in his essence. So they said: {They said, "O our father, ask for us forgiveness of our sins; indeed, we have been sinners." ❁ He said, "I will ask my Lord for forgiveness for you; indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful"}([11])—meaning Yusuf. ([10] [11] Surah Yusuf – Verse 97-98.)

{And they brought upon his shirt false blood. [Jacob] said, "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. And God is the one sought for help against that which you describe"}2. It is a "lie" because of their saying that he is a [mere] mortal; for his "Shirt" here is his manifestation like a mortal, because they did not "kill" him in knowledge. Had they recognized him in reality, they would have known that he is not a created being like them.

The people of the outward said: they slaughtered a ram and smeared Yusuf's shirt with it. In my view: if the matter was so, the slaughtered ram is the Second; for he is the one slaughtered in every era and time, and the blood is his blood. Do you not see His saying: {with false blood}? Because it is blood that "lied" (kadhiba) from a liar (kadhib).

{And they came to their father at night, weeping}3. "Night" (al-isha) is "food" in the language of the Arabs. It was [also] said: al-isha is the attribute of the eleven. It was [also] said: isha'an [at night]—that is: their eyes were "dimmed" (ashat) from weeping so they could not see; from this comes the "night-blind" (al-a'sha). The inward of Food is Science; meaning: they were weeping over that which they did not reach of the Science of Truth.
