Know, my son: the capital of the believer is his religion. He does not entrust it to men, nor does he leave it behind in luggage. Truthfulness is his tongue, Loyalty is his pillar, Deliberation is his rank, Hunger is his seasoning, Piety is his pleasure, the Prophets are his beloveds, the Truthful ones are his brothers, and the Amir Almuminin—Mighty and Sublime—is his God and his support. Whoever possesses these attributes, it is likely that Paradise shall be his station. All of this does not benefit, but rather is wasted, if you know it but do not act upon it. You must practice mutual consolation (al-muwasat) with your brothers if you cannot achieve equality (al-musawat) with them, for equality is a great matter unless God grants you success. Your brother is your religion, so do with your religion what you wish. He is your Lord, so do in the worship of your Lord that which delivers you. He is your Path and you are his path; he carries you and you carry him. May God grant us and you success in following His commands and in speech and action for His obedience among His believing servants; indeed, He is Near and Answering.
