(517) My sheikh Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Abd Allah al-Muqri — may God be pleased with him — narrated to me by his chain from his men from our Master Abu Ja’far al-Baqir — exalted be his glory — that he was asked regarding the word of God the Mighty and Sublime: {And there is none of you but shall pass over it; it was upon your Lord a decree determined}1. He replied: "Upon the exit of the soul of the deceased, there are represented to him the frames he shall inhabit and the shirts he shall wear, and the Call is presented to him. If he is among its people, he affirms it and is as God the Almighty said: {Then We will save those who feared}2 by their affirmation. But if he refuses and denies the Truth, then [He is] as He said: {And We will leave the wrongdoers therein on their knees}3 in metamorphosis. For how many have eaten the flesh of their brother or broken the bone of their father!"
(518) By the same chain from my sheikh — may God be pleased with him — from his sheikhs from the Master, the Truthful of Promise — exalted be his glory — that he was asked regarding the word of God — Majestic is His mention: {And there is none of you but shall pass over it; it was upon your Lord a decree determined}4. Our Master said: "It is the Call of the Truth. It is inevitable for the believer and the disbeliever in this Abode to know that our Master the Prince of Bees is the God of gods and Lord of lords. So when he is at his transition, he sees Amir Almuminin as He said: {And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein}5. And His saying: {And We are closer to him than you, but you do not perceive}6. His deeds are presented to him, along with what he deserved and what he earned of good and evil. If he is a believer, he knows that he is passing to the mercy of his Master where he deserved of the degrees of bliss.
