The people of Reality said: He was only named Atiq because he is Ancient (atiq) in misguidance and Iblis-hood—may God curse him. A group of the people of Oneness have agreed that Sakad possesses good deeds by which he deserved from the Master to possess the earth and rule within it. Among the good deeds for which he deserved retribution in the world so that he should have no portion in the Hereafter is his saying—may God curse him—on the Day of Ghadir to our Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be His mention: "Bravo, bravo, O son of Abi Talib! You have become my Master and the Master of every believing man and woman." Also his saying at the beginning: {He said, "By Your might, I will surely mislead them all"}1, thus affirming that Might belongs to God.
And his saying: {He said, "Because You have misled me, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path"}2, thus affirming that God has a straight path. And his saying: {He said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" He said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay"}3, thus affirming that he has a Creator. And his saying: {He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected"}4, thus confessing servitude and affirming the Day of Resurrection.
Then his saying when he emerged from the House of al-Khayzuran unsheathing his sword: "God shall not be worshipped in secret," indicating our Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be His mention. And his saying: "Indeed the God whom you call to worship is manifest among you." And his saying during his caliphate on several occasions: whenever a matter became difficult for him, he would ask our Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be his glory—about it and say: "Had it not been for Ali, Umar would have perished."
