Suddenly Umar ibn al-Khattab entered. Our Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—said: "I ask you by God the Great, O son of al-Khattab, what was your name in your youth?" (505) We return to the explanation of what we transmitted from our sheikh regarding this meaning and others until the completion of this chapter. Among that is what my master and reminder Abu al-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi—may God be pleased with him—narrated to me by his chain from Sakad ibn Mashhuz—may God curse him: that he looked at our Master Amir Almuminin—Majestic is His power—after they had wrapped the turban around His neck and dragged Him to the allegiance of Zazamid, and he laughed. Our Lord Salman—peace be upon him—said to him: "What makes you laugh, O son of al-Khattab?" He replied: "How can I not laugh when I see the turban around His neck while He drags Himself with them? Had He willed to fold the green [heaven] upon the dusty [earth] and the dusty upon the green, He would have done so, and to make it all as dust, He would have done so."

I said: "O my lord, what have you heard from the sheikhs regarding the First and the Second, and the first state to which they were transferred in metamorphosis (al-musukhiyya)?" He replied: "My hearing regarding this from my reliable sources is that the first of their shirts were two male donkeys and two vulvas."
I met with the Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may God brighten his face—and mentioned to him what Abu al-Fath al-Nu’mani had said. He said:
