He was with Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—manifest through their personages, among them: Abu Jahl (Umar ibn Hisham), Abu Lahab (Dirar), Abu Sufyan (Sakhr ibn Harb, the gatherer of the confederates), Amr ibn Abd Wudd al-Amiri, al-Hutay’ah, Uqba ibn Abi Mu'ayt, Suraqa ibn Malik al-Fazari, the four Eyes—eyes of evil—and Hafsa.

Then the nine parties whom God the Almighty mentioned in His Book, saying: {And there were in the city nine parties who caused corruption in the land and would not reform}.1 They are the same, even if their names differ, and they are: [Atiq, Umar, Uthman, Talha, Sa’d, Sa’id, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf al-Zuhri, Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah, Khalid ibn al-Walid, Mu’awiya and his son Yazid, Amr ibn al-As, Abu Musa al-Ash’ari, and Marwan ibn al-Hakam] and others among the tyrants of the Banu Umayya and the pharaohs of the Banu Abbas among those who claimed the most majestic name, which is Amir Almuminin, and displayed opposition to the Masters.

As for their names in the Ja’farite station, which is the sixth: the Universal Adversary was al-Mansur (who is al-Dawaniqi), and his Gate was Zurara ibn A’yun, just as he was manifest through Umar and his first Gate, who was the Pharaoh of Egypt, and his Gate was Haman—for every Pharaoh is the Second. The completion of the nine with al-Mansur are: Abu Basir al-Thaqafi (not al-Asadi), Abu Bakr al-Hadrami, Muhammad ibn Abi Ya’fur, Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Thaqafi, Amir ibn Khuza’a, Kathir (the seller of date-stones), Burayda al-Ajali2, and Hujr ibn Za’ida. Entering with them into the number is: Isa ibn Musa ibn Ali ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Abbas, the commander of commanders with al-Mansur; he is the tyrant king for whom the Ship was damaged, and it was he who fought Abu al-Khattab, who is the Ship—and the report is long.
