What he imparted to me was that my master Amir Almuminin Ali ibn Abi Talib, the Anza' al-Batin, may His praise be magnified and His names be sanctified, is the God of gods and the Finality of finalities, Manifest in His essence and the speaker upon the pulpit of His grandeur: "I am the one who vaulted its heaven, I am the one who leveled its earth." This heard speech from Him is a manifest word from a powerful Lord, High, Apparent, Unique, and Dominant; it points to His spiritual reality (Ma'nawiyyah) and alerts to His Lordship. That visible Anza'i form is the Supreme Essence. He—exalted be His mention—manifested the world through the Names and Attributes, appeared to them through a Name and an Attribute, addressed them through His essence, and called them to His unity out of justice, compassion, and grace.

The Lord Muhammad, may His might be glorified, is His Name, His Soul, His Throne, and His Veil inwardly, while he is His Prophet, His Messenger, and His Servant outwardly. Salman—to him is total submission—is His Gate (Bab) who calls to Him and His Path that points to Him outwardly, while he is Gabriel, the companion of Revelation and Descent inwardly. The Meaning (Ma'na) is forever Unique (Ahad), His Name is forever One (Wahid), His Gate is forever Unicitness (Wahdaniyyah), His Orphans (Aytam) are forever five, His Deputies (Nuqaba) are forever twelve, and His Nobles (Nujaba) are forever twenty-eight.

The specialized, the sincere, and the tested ones complete the seven ranks of the five thousand who constitute the Great Luminous Upper World. As for the Small World (the seven human ranks), they are one hundred and nineteen thousand persons: the Near Ones, the Cherubim, the Spirituals, the Sanctified, the Travelers, the Listeners, and the Followers. All of the two worlds, upper and lower, are distinct numbers of individuals; no two of them are equal in rank.
