This section includes the mention of the Criminal Cycle (al-Qubba al-Janiya), the recognition of the personages of the Adversary—may God curse him—the mention of his names in the manifestations, and the mention of what shall befall his followers and partisans of repeated punishments as long as the earth and the heavens endure.
It is what my master and sheikh Abu al-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Baghdadi—may God be pleased with him—narrated to me from what he related of the sheikhs he met among the companions of Hadith, from the transcription of the Book of the Inception (Kitab al-Mubtada): that God—Sublime and Exalted is He—commanded the Fire to draw strength with two tongues, and it did so. He commanded one of them, and it struck the other, so that two personages fell between them: a male and a female. He named the male Hamlit and the female Jamlit. God—Glory be to Him—commanded the male to copulate with the female. He did so, and she conceived from him and then laid ten eggs. God inspired her to brood over them, and she did so. From them emerged ten personages: five males and five females. They intermarried and procreated, and they were the origin of the Jinn.
That is the clarification of His saying: {And the jinn We created before from scorching fire}1. They were in the Abode after the four worlds that preceded them: the Hann, the Bann, the Tamm, and the Ramm. The proof of the correctness of what we mentioned—meaning these nations who were in the Abode before the Jinn (who are the Jinn and those who came after them of our earthly world).
(493) What was related regarding the Lord Messenger—exalted be his glory—on the Day of Hunayn, of which the Exalted said: {God has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing. ❁ Then God sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers}2.
