(489) The Lord Mim — exalted be his glory — said: "Even if the world were fresh blood, the sustenance of the believer from it would be lawful."

Because it is the Soul that remains, thus the killer is the killed.

The soul of the Affirmant (al-mu’alif) remains because if he is killed by a sword or otherwise, he is transferred to a more noble state than he was in. But the disbeliever, if he is killed or dies, is transferred to that which is lower than he was. As it was related: the soul of the Adversary (al-mukhalif), when it departs, is dipped in Sijjin; at that moment it tastes every punishment it passed through previously and what reaches it thereafter. It forgets the bounty of humanity it was in. If it has fulfilled its required repetition of reincarnation (al-tanasukh), it is transferred into the crop of a bird of its kind to be punished until the Day of Disclosure. If there remains any required repetition in reincarnation, it is returned into the frames (al-hayakil) until it fulfills what is upon it, remaining according to its merit. The believer, when his soul departs his body, is dipped in a spring called the Spring of Life; it tastes every pleasure it tasted in the Abode of the World in all its shirts (qumsan). Then it is deposited in the crop of a bird of its kind, grazing upon the finest food and neighboring every beauty in the company of the best inhabitants for forty days. Then it emerges to the Abode of the World, and this is the Isthmus (al-Barzakh) for the Affirmant and the Adversary.

The meurtre by the sword is a person, who is overcome then overcomes.

The sword with which you kill is that by which you are killed.

(490) As our Master said — and his word is the Truth: "Whoever unsheathes the sword of transgression shall be killed by it." It is reported regarding Lord Messiah — exalted be his glory — that he passed by a slain man and said: "You killed, so you were killed, and your killer shall be killed."
