From these nights, six nights belong to Fatima al-Zahra — exalted be her glory: among them the first night of the month of Ramadan, in which He permitted sexual relations (al-rafath) and made the ritual bath (al-ghusl) obligatory; the seventeenth night, the nineteenth night, the twenty-first night, the twenty-third night, and the night of the middle of Shaban. In all these nights, the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr) is hoped for, and He made the ritual bath obligatory in all of them. On the night of the middle of Shaban is the visitation of our Master al-Husayn — exalted be his glory.

Regarding the Night of Power, there is a transmitted hearing (sama‘), which is what Sheikh Abu al-Haytham Sirri ibn Hamdan narrated to me, and what Yunus al-Dawudi and Humud al-Misri — may God be pleased with them all — narrated to me, with no disagreement between them, from our Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi — may God brighten his face. They had asked him regarding the word of God the Sublime: {Indeed, We sent it down during the Night of Power. ❁ And what can make you know what is the Night of Power? ❁ The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. ❁ The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. ❁ Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.}¹. He then said: "The Night of Power is Umm Salama², the personage of Lord Salman. The angels and the Spirit descend therein: the angels are the Orphans (al-Aytam). By the permission of their Lord: Salman the Gate. For every matter, peace it is: the Peace is Salman, to whom belongs the submission (al-taslim), until the emergence of dawn. This is my hearing from them, so let our adversary say what he wishes."
