As for the Monbite (al-Munbi'un): I asked my master and sheikh Abu al-Fath Muhammad ibn al-Hasan — may God brighten his face — and he said: they are seventeen persons, neither increasing nor decreasing from this number. They do not have a separate rank, but their likeness in the High World of the luminous five thousand is like a detachment sent out by the King who appoints a man over them. The one appointed over them was Zayd ibn Haritha because he "increased" (zada) over their status, and for that reason he was named Zayd. They are from all the Alid ranks. In the world of sovereignty, they are like those whom the Sultan gathers, taking one man from every group; they go out with him in that service and then return from their service, each one returning to his respective station. You will find them among the Orphans, the Nakibs, and all the ranks. We have mentioned their names previously, so we need not repeat them here.

As for the Specialists (al-Mukhtassun), the Sincere (al-Mukhlisun), and the Tested (al-Mumtahanun): our sheikh Abu Abd Allah — may God sanctify his soul — did not mention their names in his epistle. We have cited here only what we have known of the names whose recognition he favored us with through him — may God reward him with the best on our behalf and grant him satisfaction. However, these seven Alid ranks, according to what he related, clarified, and displayed, are the Luminous World which numbers five thousand persons who manifest with the manifestation of the Meaning (the Prince of Bees), His Name, and His Gate, and vanish with their occultation. Their Master manifests them with names, attributes, tribes, and lineages just as He manifested His own Essence — Mighty and Sublime — which is barred from attributes, and as He manifested His Name and His Gate as justice from Him prevailing in His sovereignty, and as mercy and compassion toward His creation. Otherwise, they are in reality lights, not bodies, even if they appear like the rest of mankind — so know that.
