This section includes the Recognition of the People of the Ranks — peace be upon them — and what appeared in praise of the Tested ibn Muljam and al-Zubayr — peace be upon them.

Since we have provided the sequence of the Gates — peace be upon them — and explained what we have known of God's favor upon us, it is now incumbent to explain the rank of the Orphans (al-Aytam) — peace be upon them — and mention the names of their personages in the eleven Risings, so that recognition is completed for whoever reflects, and faith increases for whoever possesses hearing and sight and whom God has specialized with knowledge, action, and vision.

As for the Orphans: they are the second rank among the ranks of the High World, for they are ordered by the rank of the Gates, and there is none after them more majestic than they. The first of the Existences: the first Luminous, Majestic Existence which the Lord Name — exalted be his glory — originated and produced, he being Lord Salman — peace be upon him — and there is none in the sovereignty after him more majestic than his Orphans, and they are five forever.

The first existence among them: the Elemental (al-Jawhari), the Aerial, the Watery, the Fiery, and the Earthly. They are superior to the Orphans of the Lord Mim — exalted be his glory — because those only served in the Muhammadan Cycle, whereas the Orphans of Salman are the Orphans of the Sovereignty from the first Inception. They are the Great Angels and the five wandering planets who direct mankind. Through them, recognition is completed for the people of affirmation, the righteous and happy ones, because knowledge emerges from the Gate to them, and from them it reaches those beneath them among the people of the ranks. They possess the substance of the people of the ranks according to the system and order established by the Master — Majestic is His power. They are according to the stations specialized for them; none of them exceeds his rank or departs from his station. Glory be to Him who invented them and honored them.
