(473) From our Lord Abu Khalid al-Kabili — peace be upon him — from Khawla al-Hanafiyya, that she said: "Muhammad [ibn al-Hanafiyya] is not my son through marriage; rather, Amir Almuminin kissed me, and thus I conceived him and gave birth to him."

(474) The like was related from Ja'dah al-Kilabiyyah, who was asked about that and said: "Amir Almuminin commanded me, so I sat before him. He struck his hand upon my back and said: 'Be al-Abbas,' so I conceived him and gave birth to him." They are the Children of the Will.

(475) As our sheikh said: The Master — exalted be his glory — willed their manifestation and that He be veiled by them, so He manifested them, as Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi — may God raise his degree — said in his poetry which contains the clarification of every difficulty for the seeker of guidance:

God is veiled in five who were made to appear in the likeness of the father, the mother, the spouses, and the child,

and brothers who are guides to Him through Him, and they are witnesses for Him in proximity and distance.

These five are veils. Do you not know, my son, that the Anza'ite Form is great and majestic? It is the very Meaning and His reality, which the Name did not manifest despite the greatness of his status with Him; nor did He clothe him in it. Rather, the Exemplary Manifestations (al-zuhurat al-mithliyya) with which He honored him [the Name] caused him [the Name] to vanish beneath the shimmering light of His Essence, and he appeared in the likeness of His form. How then could al-Azwar ibn Qays be clothed in it? God is far above the words of the people of polytheism.
