Our Master—exalted be his glory—said to our Lord Abu Shu’ayb—peace be upon him: "You have spoken the truth, O Greatest Gate of God."
(467) By the chain from Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Hasani, who said: I thought about the praised crow which God sent as He said: {Then God sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the disgrace of my brother?" And he became of the regretful}1, [distinguishing it] from that blamed crow which our Lord Noah—exalted be his glory—sent. I entered the presence of our Master al-Hasan the Latter, al-Askari—exalted be his glory—to ask Him about that. Suddenly, my lord Abu Shu’ayb Muhammad ibn Nusayr—peace be upon him—entered wearing white clothes, a white turban, and a white shawl (taylasan), with red boots on his feet. He offered peace to our Master, who returned the greeting and sat him by His side on His right. Then Ishaq al-Ahmar entered with a black turban, a dark silk robe, a shawl lined with black, and black boots on his feet.
Our Master—exalted be his glory—having known what was in my soul—for Glory be to Him from whom no hidden thing escapes—said: "O Muhammad, this is the blamed crow"—meaning Ishaq. Then He pointed to Lord Abu Shu’ayb—peace be upon him—and said: "This is the praised crow." I fell upon my face prostrating. Regarding this, our sheikh—may God sanctify his subtle essence—says:
Indeed, by God, what a crow you are, brooding over the egg of the eloquent falcon.
(468) Among what Ishaq al-Ahmar related in his compilations: that the Moon is the Meaning and the Sun is the Name!! While God the Almighty says: {And of His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to God, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship}2. And he [Ishaq] said: that Gold and Silver are the Meaning and the Name?!!! While the Prophet—exalted be his glory—says: "May God curse these two stones: gold and silver."
