(462) By the chain from Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may God sanctify his soul—from our Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi—may God brighten his face—from Muhammad ibn Ishaq from his father Ishaq, who said: Muhammad ibn Jundub—peace be upon him—read to me a signed decree (tawqi’) that was issued to the Shia from the Lord Abu Muhammad al-Hasan al-Askari—exalted be his glory—in which He said: "Muhammad ibn Nusayr is our Gate and our Proof over the believers, a light for them in the darknesses of doubt and polytheism. He is a hidden pearl in the station of Salman, and a Gate among our Gates. Whoever doubts him or rejects his word, then upon him be the curse of God, of the people, and of the angels altogether."

(463) By the chain from Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may God be pleased with him—from his sheikh Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God raise his rank: Sheikh Abu Muhammad Abd Allah al-Jannan the Persian Ascetic narrated to me, saying: Yahya ibn Ma'in al-Samiri—peace be upon him—narrated to me three days after the occultation of our Master al-Hasan al-Askari—exalted be his glory: that Lord Abu Shu’ayb Muhammad ibn Nusayr al-Numayri—peace be upon him—met Ishaq al-Ahmar, Abu Abbad al-Basri, al-Hasan ibn Mundhir, and Habib al-Attar. They asked him: "O our lord, toward whom has the indication from our Master fallen?" Lord Abu Shu’ayb was on that day riding a grey, dark-toned work-horse with a Tahirid saddle beneath him and crystal stirrups. He took his foot out of the stirrup and kicked it; suddenly it became pure red gold. Then he returned his foot to it, took it out, and kicked it a second time; suddenly it was burned silver. Then he returned his foot, took it out, and kicked it a third time; suddenly it was iron. Then he returned his foot, took it out, and kicked it a fourth time; suddenly it was red copper. Then he returned his foot, took it out, and kicked it a fifth time; it became crystal as it was. Then he said: "There is no quest for a seeker beyond me."
