Likewise, the people of purity have reached that which those who fell behind did not reach. It [the soul] continues to be purified until it rises to the high stations; at that moment, it knows what it did not know and bears what it did not bear. Had you known the inward intent (batin al-irada) in the curse of Abu al-Khattab, you would have refrained from plunging into it. Indeed, a folk among you knew it, surrendered to him, and were satisfied with it; they are among you in your same position, except that you do not bear what they bear of power. Just as if one of you knows of his brother that he is beneath him in status, it is not fitting that he casts upon him that which causes him doubt, lest he break him and then need to mend him. If he does not mend him, he seeks for him a mender (jabiran) and supplicates for him saying: 'O Mender of broken bones!' and He is Jabir, and He is Salman, and He is the one who mends frail things."

(454) One day Salman — peace be upon him — entered upon al-Miqdad while Abu Dharr — peace be upon them both — was with him. al-Miqdad was cooking a pot and stirring it with his hand while kindle stones beneath it. It was related that he was kindling it with his foot and leg. Abu Dharr was looking at him and marveling at him. Lord Salman said: "O Miqdad, be gentle with your brother, for he does not bear what you bear nor reach what you have reached." So take heed, O assembly of believers, and ask about what is difficult for you, and you shall know it, God willing.

(455) He — exalted be his glory — said: "When you see us cursing a man, do not curse him, for we have a curse of mercy and we have a curse of wrath."
