My Master Amir Almuminin—exalted be his glory—said to me: "Woe to them, O Salman! If only they had heard the knowledge of what you said; but how could they hear it, when you announced it to them and called to it in the pre-eternity, yet they strayed and were arrogant with a manifest arrogance, and strayed into a far-reaching error. I have entrusted their account to my Name and my Veil, and to him is their return; he is sufficient for me as a trustee over them."
The Call of Abu Dharr Jundub ibn Junada al-Ghifari
This is so, for even though he was the Orphan of the religion of God—prayers of God be upon him—the merit in this belongs to our Lord Salman—peace be upon him—for which reason we have explained it.
(441) Abu Ali Muhammad ibn Attab al-Basri related, saying: Ahmad ibn Ghiyath narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Jundub—peace be upon him—narrated to me, saying: My lord Abu Shu’ayb Muhammad ibn Nusayr—peace be upon him—narrated to me, saying: "O Muhammad ibn Jundub, Salman entered upon his master, the Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory. [The Prophet] said to him: 'O Salman, what did Abu Dharr do on this day?' He replied: 'O my Master, he did that which You had previously charged Salman with, and he carried it out just as Salman had carried it out, as if he knew Your intent for Salman. He sought it and completed it, and that was by Your will concerning him.' He [the Prophet] said: 'O Salman, his position toward you is like your position toward Me; for I have qualified him for that.' He said: 'I have done so, O my Master.'" Muhammad ibn Jundub said: I said to my lord Abu Shu’ayb—peace be upon him: "O my lord, and what was the command that Lord Muhammad—exalted be his glory—gave to our Lord Salman, which Abu Dharr then performed and carried out?"
