(438) As for what occurred by consensus, it is his saying — peace be upon him: "I and my companions were burned five times, and the completion of the sixth is inevitable, and it is upon God to bring us to the seventh by His pleasure and command." This statement was made by him when he was burned in al-Madain in the time of Marwan ibn al-Hakam — may God curse him. During this burning:
(439) The Master of Worshipers — exalted be his glory — said when the news of his burning reached him: "Had I seen the brains of Abd Allah and his companions tied in a bundle, I would bear witness that they are roaming in the Kingdom, alive and provided for." Regarding this, God the Almighty sent down: {And that when the servant of God stood up supplicating Him, they almost became upon him a compacted mass. ❁ Say, "I only invoke my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone"}1.
The greatest of the calls in disclosure and the highest in honor was that on the Day of Ghadir Khumm. It was a day unlike [other] days and a call unlike [other] calls, for it was the call of the Supreme Name — exalted be his glory — to the divinity of our Master, the Amir Almuminin — exalted be his glory. His declaration was public and his call was heard by the two worlds: the High Luminous and the Lower Human; the World of Purity and the Dark Turbid World. He called to the divinity of the Pre-eternal, his Master, with a loud voice by the command of the High, the Great: "This is your God, so worship Him; and this is your Creator, so declare His Oneness." [He said]: "This is the one I pointed to in My Book and guided you to by My word when I said to you: {He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is Knowing of all things} as an allusion; and this statement I say as a declaration. The one I was calling you toward is here, manifest among you, so worship Him with the truth of His worship and declare His Oneness, being sincere in His Unicity."
