This section includes the explanation of what the Gate brought and what he manifested of sciences and miracles for the people of understanding.

God is the grantor of success by His generosity. We have explained in the preceding chapter the emigration of the Gate — peace be upon him — and how the Mim — exalted be his glory — honored him by manifesting through him, the textual designation of his Gatehood, and the indication made toward him. There remain the proofs we previously mentioned: the call to the divinity of the Meaning — glory be to His majesty — the dazzling miracle, the curse by which the people of the outward were veiled from recognizing its inward reality, and the science that those below the people of the ranks fall short of knowing. We cite of this that which increases the seeker in light and purity, and benefits the desirer with insight and guidance by the aid of the High, the Most High; indeed, He is the Hearer of supplication.

As for the Gate’s call to the spiritual dimension of the Lord — Exalted: these are numerous calls, for the Gate is the one who announces the Oneness of his Master, the Ain, in every era, cycle, and manifestation. Regarding this, God the Mighty and Sublime says: {And an announcement from God and His Messenger to the people on the day of the Greatest Hajj that God is quit of the polytheists, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away, then know that you will not cause failure to God. And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment}1. This is the Day of Manifestation.

The meaning of the words of the Sublime: {And an announcement} — meaning the Master permits His Supreme Name to permit the Sin (the Gate) to call out. He indeed called out after the occultation of the Messenger — exalted be his glory — on the Day of the Saqifa when the people devoted themselves to the Calf and pledged allegiance to it. The report is long and famous, known as the "Report of the Reins" (khabar al-a'inna); we shall cite it in full after the completion of this section by His will and aid, along with what joins it of his second call.
