by them; and seventy names for the Name are more general,

and four, no other than them, are his names when complete.

(426) He then interpreted that in the jurisprudence of his epistle—may God brighten his face—in the Rasbashiyya Epistle: Seven names for the Meaning in Essence, which are: Abel, Seth, Joseph, Joshua, Asaph, Simon Peter, and Ali Amir Almuminin, the Namer of the Name and the Gate and those beneath them.

The seventy-four are the names of the Name from Adam then Enos until Muhammad ibn Nusayr; thus the names of the Name—exalted be his glory—are completed.

(427) Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Surur al-Suri (known as al-Hayyaji) narrated to me, saying: The reliable youth Abu Sa'id Maymun ibn al-Qasim al-Tabarani narrated to me: I asked Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Jali—may God sanctify his soul—regarding the saying of the Sage—exalted be his glory: "Whoever eats twenty-one raisins on an empty stomach every day is safe from ailments?"

He replied: Its meaning is that he should mention every day twenty-one "locales" (mantiqan) of the locales of the Gate: six from the Adamite Cycle to Lord Muhammad, namely: Gabriel, Yail, Ham, Dan, Abd Allah, and Rozaba; and eleven from Salman to Abu Shu’ayb; and four which are the personages of the Gate: Salsal, Salsabil, Dihya, and Umm Salama.

By his chain from our sheikh Lord al-Khasibi—may God raise his rank—regarding the Rooster of the Throne and the ten hens? He replied: The Rooster of the Throne is Salman, and the ten hens are his five Orphans, the two Saints Nawfal ibn al-Harith and Mus’ab ibn Umayr, and the three brothers of Amir Almuminin outwardly, namely: Talib, Aqeel, and Ja'far. It was [also] said: they are the Deals (safaqat) of the Gates. Likewise the Cup mentioned in the Book of God in the story of Joseph is the Gate, because he is the possessor of the measure of the sciences, the sciences of God.
