When Lord Muhammad vanished, He manifested as the Gate. The Gate had been manifest as Salman, then he manifested as Safina Abu Abd al-Rahman Qays ibn Warqa al-Riyahi. We shall mention the explanation of the manifestations of the Name through the Gate after the completion of this sequence in a separate chapter, God the Almighty willing.
Safina was the Gate for the speaking Master, the One of vast knowledge (Anza' Batin), God of the worlds, and for His silent Name our Master al-Hasan the First, the Magnificent House—exalted be his glory. When the speaking Meaning—may His favors be exalted—manifested as al-Hasan at the start of the line of Imamate, the Name was al-Husayn and his son was Ali. The Gate was Rashid al-Hajiri for the speaking Master al-Hasan, while the silent one was Lord al-Husayn—exalted be his glory.
When the speaking Master manifested as al-Husayn, the silent one was Ali ibn al-Husayn, the Master of Worshipers. The Gate Abu Khalid Abd Allah ibn Ghalib al-Kabili emigrated to him from Kabul-Shah to the city of Medina, which is Tayyiba; it was named Tayyiba because it was made "pleasant" (tabat) by the Messenger of God—exalted be his glory.
(418) When he arrived before our Master, he stood at the door. He [the Imam] called to him: "O Kankar, enter!" When he entered, he prostrated. He [the Imam] said to him: "Are you the one who spoke to your mother while you were in her womb?" He replied: "Yes, by that You have informed me, O my Master."
(419) Our Lord Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi—may God ennoble his station—related in a report from which we have shortened this section so as not to interrupt the sequence: When Abu Khalid—peace be upon him—entered upon our Master, the Master of Worshipers—exalted be his glory—He said to him: "Welcome, O Kankar1."
